FAQs Page
Everything you need to know about Wisteria Bridal and how we do things differently.

1. Are the dresses second-hand?
Yes, in so much as they are all “previously owned”, however, up to 60% of our dresses have never been worn. The dresses range from brand-new (with tickets still attached) to worn once, but all are in excellent condition. Each gown is carefully curated and assessed for quality, style, and condition.
2. Can I try on dresses in person?
Absolutely! All bridal consultations take place in our Banbridge boutique. We offer a relaxed, exclusive experience where you can browse, try on, and find the one. You’ll never feel rushed or pressured.
3. What sizes do you stock?
We carry a broad and evolving range of sizes, typically from UK 4 to UK 38, with new stock arriving regularly. Because all dresses can be altered in-house, we can tailor your gown to fit perfectly.
4. Do you offer alterations?
Yes—we are one of the very few bridal shops in Northern Ireland who offer true in-house alterations. All alterations and customisations will be completed by Donna and Gina, better known as “Sew Handy” and “Gina’s Bridal Alterations”. You can be assured of a perfectly tailored wedding gown on your wedding day.
5. Can you store my dress until the wedding?
Yes, we like to offer a complete journey for our brides from the point of purchase to the day that you walk the aisle. This complimentary service removes the stress of transporting your gown or storing it at home.
6. What if I need my dress quickly?
We are your perfect choice for shorter timelines and elopements. All our gowns are available to take on the day, so there is no lead times for ordering, where you have to wait for months for your dress to arrive, or pay extra for rush orders. With in-house alterations available, we can fast-track your fittings if necessary.
7. How much do your dresses cost?
Our gowns are significantly more affordable than traditional bridal retail prices. While exact prices vary, most dresses fall between £195 and £2,500—offering you substantial savings on original RRP. Alterations are quoted separately and tailored to your needs.

8. What makes Wisteria Bridal different?
We’re not like other bridal shops. Our ethos is built on trust, sustainability, and seamstress craftsmanship. We offer designer gowns at affordable prices, with no mark-up costs making luxury achievable for every bride who shops with us.

9. Can I bring my mum or bridesmaids with me?
Of course. We encourage you to bring a few to help you enjoy the experience. Our space is calm and welcoming, and we make every bride and every appointment feel special.

10. Do you accept outside alterations or dresses bought elsewhere?
No, as Wisteria Bridal, we focus solely on gowns purchased through our studio.
11. Can I sell my wedding dress through Wisteria Bridal?
We don’t purchase dresses directly, but we do offer a trusted listing service for local brides and suppliers who want to pass their gown on. For a one-time £50 listing fee, your dress will be included in our boutique collection for up to 12 months or until it sells—whichever comes first.
You can list bridal gowns in excellent condition, as well as select accessories like veils and headpieces. Once your item is reviewed, we’ll advise on a realistic resale price based on market trends and demand, but the final decision is yours.
When your dress sells, Wisteria Bridal retains a 30% commission from the agreed sale price, and the remaining amount is transferred to you within 48 hours.
Selling through Wisteria is a simple and secure way to give your gown a new chapter while supporting local, sustainable bridalwear. If you'd like to list your gown, just get in touch.

12. How is Wisteria Bridal Sustainable?
Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Every gown within Wisteria Bridal began its journey elsewhere.
